I had been trying for a whole day to get my NetBeans 7.1.2 to connect to my friend’s Subversion with no luck. The problem was that NetBeans would return “authentication cancelled” error even with all the fields correctly filled. It was perplexing as we managed to get access using Xcode as well as Eclipse.
Then I found the following references and put one and one together:
The problem lies with the Mac OS version of SSH will send a banner that confuses the NetBeans driver. To resolve it, I have to include the -q option in the .subversion/config file, under the “tunnels” section.
